El efecto de las marcas verbales de acuerdo en el uso de sujetos nulos y pronominales: un estudio cuantitativo de la primera persona singular en portugués brasileño

Resumen

En un estudio con base en corpus y dos experimentos de aceptabilidad, investigamos si existe una preferencia por sujetos nulos o pronominales con verbos ambiguos (sincréticos) o exclusivos (no ambiguos) en portugués brasileño (PB). En los estudios del área, se propuso (i) que se está desactivando en PB el “Principio Evite Pronombres” y (ii) que el PB es una lengua parcialmente “pro-drop”, cuyos contextos morfosintácticos para sujetos nulos se han restringido. Nuestro estudio con base en corpus y en los experimentos de aceptabilidad, comprueba que existe un efecto del sincretismo de personas en el paradigma verbal sobre la frecuencia relativa de sujetos nulos y sobre la aceptabilidad de oraciones con sujetos nulos en la primera persona del singular: existe una tendencia a evitar la ambigüedad de sujetos nulos con formas verbales ambiguas, pero solo en contextos en los que hay competición de antecedentes. Se analizan estos resultados a la luz de la teoría general de la resolución de la anáfora (Ariel 1990, etc.), como resultado de un cálculo que tiene en cuenta la accesibilidad de los antecedentes en potencia y el costo de la forma anafórica (ALMOR, 1996).

Professor in the Departament of Portuguese Language and Literature in the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Post-Doctoral researcher in the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Linguística in the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Member of the Laboratório da Linguagem e Processos Cognitivos. He obtained his PhD at the Université Sorbonne Paris Cité, France, in 2017, preparing his thesis at the Université de Paris VII Denis Diderot. He studies interface phenomena from the perspective of Computational Psycholinguistics, using experimental and corpus data and statistical modelling.

Philip H. Miller, Université de Paris VII Denis Diderot (CLILLAC-ARP)

Professor of General and English Linguistics in the UFR d’Etudes Anglophones in the Université de Paris VII Denis Diderot. Member of the LabEx EFL (Empirical Foundations of Linguistics). He obtained his PhD degree in General Linguistics at the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1991 and his Habilitation à diriger des recherches at the Université de Lille 3, in 1994. He is an expert in general linguistics, French syntax, English syntax, English grammar, theoretical syntax, syntax and semantics, syntax and discourse, syntax and morphology. 

Barbara Hemforth, Centre Nationale de Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) Université de Paris VII Denis Diderot (LLF)

Directrice de Recherche at the Centre Nationale de Recherche Scientifique works at the Laboratoire de Linguistique Formelle, Université de Paris Diderot. Member of the LabEx EFL (Empirical Foundations of Linguistics). She obtained her PhD at the University of Bochum, Germany, in 1991 and her Habilitation in Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Freiburg, Germany,  in 1999. She is an expert in Experimental Linguistics from a cross-linguistic perspective at the syntax/semantics/pragmatics interface.
