New teaching methods have been studied and used by teachers, with the aim of improving the students' learning process. In this context, storytelling, well known and used in the areas of Advertising and Marketing, begins to gain strength as an active learning tool and an ally in the educational environment. Storytelling allows teachers and students to make connections with each other, creating a comfortable atmosphere for new feelings, sharing ideas and using their imaginations. This article seeks to analyze, through experimental research, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, the performance of students in the traditional teaching method and with the use of storytelling as a teaching methodology. The experiment was applied with undergraduate students from a university and consisted of dividing the class into two groups. One of the groups received the content using the storytelling technique and the other group received the content according to the traditional method of expository teaching. The data collection instrument consisted of three stages and the results showed a better performance of students in the group in which the storytelling technique was used by the teacher.
