A Mensageira “literary magazine dedicated to the Brazilian woman”, introduced by Presciliana Duarte de Almeida (1867-1944), it was available in São Paulo, between the years of 1897 to 1900. Destined to the feminine literary production, it also published articles that defended the women’s emancipation, especially demanding a quality education. In its pages appeared names like the writer Júlia Lopes de Almeida (1862-1934) and the Portuguese woman Guiomar Torrezão (1844-1898), writer and feminist leader.Downloads
