This article aims to contribute to the area of Translation Studies with a brief analysis of contextual aspects of three pseudotranslations by Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837). Since his youth the writer from Recanati translated classical and modern authors and this process opened the horizons of his education, maturity as an artist and literary creation. His pseudotranslations are directly linked to this process since Leopardi used this technique to put his work out and to become known and recognized in the literary scene of his time.Downloads
