Abstract

The Itinerarium Burdigalense (Bordeaux Itinerary) – also known as Itinerarium Hierosolymitanum (Jerusalem Itinerary) – is the oldest record of a Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It recounts a journey from Bordeaux to Jerusalem during the years 333 and 334. The text survives in four manuscripts, copied between the 8th and 10th centuries. The following is our edition of the Latin text, accompanied by its translation into Brazilian Portuguese, with commentaries and maps.
