Between laesae-majesty and laesae-republic: The political crime transfiguration on Illuminism

This paper introduces the covered itinerary due to politicians’ crimes regarding criminal experience of French Revolution that even being in?uenced by Montesquieu, Beccaria and Marat illuminists’ ideals, conducted itself by the spirit of a threatening criminal political law, which soon ruled the whole group of repressive activity. This is a very important historical moment for criminal law, since it allows the occurrence of transition concerning crimen laesae maiestatis conception to a new and powerful delinquent ?gure: the lèse-République crime.Downloads
