About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Seqüência Journal - Legal and Political studies, of the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Law of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, publishes unpublished articles, research reports, conference communications, written by professors, students, and researchers linked to postgraduate courses in Law, as well as reviews and translations in the area of Critical Theory of Law, emphasizing contemporary constitutionalism and its reflexes in the following areas of the Program: Law, State, and Society; Theory and History of Law; International Relations Law.

Peer Review Process

The articles go through a previous selection made by the Editorial Council, in order to verify their adequacy to the journal's editorial line. Soon after, they're sent to two anonymous reviewers - one of them is always external to CPGD - for qualitative analysis of its form and content, according to the "DOUBLE BLIND PEER REVIEW" proccess. The deadline to elaborate the review is 21 days. When the review is received, it will be sent to the article's author, in order to give knowledge of its content and, if that's the case, for the suggested modifications to be made.

Publication Frequency

Starting in 2021, the Seqüência Journal - Legal and Political Studies will have its articles published through the continuous publication system (Aread of Print - AOP).

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Digital Preservation

The Seqüência: Estudos Jurídicos e Políticos Journal is concerned with ensuring long-term access to its content. In case any incident occurs in the serves, the digital files of the journal are preserved in the Rede Cariniana, using the LOCKSS program. LOCKSS creates a file system distributed among the participating libraries, which allows them to create permanent files of their journals for preservation and restoration.

Sponsors

Sequência Journal may publish final versions or articles that are in repositories in a preliminary version. To this end, the articles, in their final version, must undergo the evaluation procedure practiced by the journal. In case of publication, the text will expressly indicate the location of the preliminary text in the respective repository.

Sequência is managed by the Postgraduate Program in Law at the Center for Legal Sciences (CCJ) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, Brazil.

The editorial decision will not be influenced by the free publication practiced by the journal.
