Cadernos de Tradução maintains Q1 and Q2 in the SJR 2025 and joins new subject areas

2026-04-28

We celebrate another important milestone in the editorial trajectory of Cadernos de Tradução with the release of the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) 2025 results.

In the latest evaluation, we have maintained our Q1 ranking in Literature and Literary Theory and remain in Q2 in Linguistics and Languages.

As a new development, the journal is now also indexed in additional subject areas, following an update process within the database that reflects concrete changes in the journal’s scope and in the profile of its recent publications. Cadernos de Tradução is now classified under Cultural Studies (Q2), Gender Studies (Q3), Artificial Intelligence (Q4), and Education (Q4). Inclusion in these categories is not merely an expansion, but also entails greater demands: it involves increased competition, more stringent evaluation criteria, and the need to sustain editorial consistency in areas with a strong presence of high-impact international journals. At the same time, this broader indexation shows that the journal has been effectively engaging with contemporary research agendas that intersect with Translation Studies.

This recognition is the result of collective work. The editorial team would like to express its sincere thanks to all authors, reviewers, guest editors, copyeditors, readers, and collaborators who contribute, directly or indirectly, to the quality and impact of the journal.

We remain committed to excellence, ethical standards, and the wide circulation of knowledge in the field of Translation Studies.
