This study aims to describe the fundamental propositions of the Interpretive Theory of Translation, or Théorie du Sens (Theory of Sense), and those of the Theory of the Effort Models in Interpretation, as well as point out the interrelations between these two theoretical models of approach and description of the interpreting process in its many modalities. For this: 1) we present the fundamental propositions of the Interpretive Theory of Translation according to the theoretical basis of Marianne Lederer (1984 e 1990), Danica Seleskovitch (1977, 1984 e 1986), and Seleskovitch & Lederer (1989); subsequently: 2) we present the fundamental propositions of the Effort Models Theory according to the theoretical basis of Daniel Gile (1995); finally: 3) we present reflections on the interrelations between these two models.Downloads
