Em 2008, em comemoração ao centenário de Machado, as professoras Ana Cláudia Suriani da Silva e Eliane Fernanda Cunha Ferreira retomam as discussões sobre autoria, plágio e tradução, propondo uma edição bilíngue na qual cotejam a obra de Hénaux, De l'amour des femmes pour les sots de 1858 e a tradução de Machado Queda que as mulheres têm para os tolos de 1861. Assim, esta resenha analisa a tradução de Machado de Assis, cuja autoria da obra, durante muito tempo, foi atríbuida ao escritor brasileiro.
