Abstract

Considerations on the italian translation of Oswald de Andrade’s poetry and artistic manifestos (in La cultura cannibale, Meltemi 1999) lead to reflect on the annotated translation, seen as a new presentation of the text. The question of fidelity and infidelity inserts itself into the matter of literary fruition, since the very presence of notes — necessary for a better reception of a foreign text — influences the quality of reading by indirectly altering the perception of its “tone” and its style.
