Myriam Ávila, UFMG

Myriam Ávila is a Professor of Literary Theory in the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. She is the author of Rima e solução: a poesia nonsense de Lewis Carroll e Edward Lear (1995), of O retrato na rua: memórias e modernidade na cidade planejada (2008), and translator, among others, of Homi Bhabha's The location of culture and James Wells's Three Thousand Miles through Brazil. She is now doing research on writers' journals and memoirs between 1850 and 1950.
