Alvina Quintana’s Home Girls:Chicana Literary Voices
Abstract
After explaining that “Home Girls” is a term commonly used in the United States to refer to “women of color,” Alvina Quintana introduces herself as “a Chicana who thrives on the writing produced by [her] Chicana ‘Home Girls’”. The reader of Home Girls soon realizes, however, that besides possessing inside knowledge of the issues addressed in Chicana literature, Quintana is equally at ease when discussing contemporary social/critical theorists and incorporating their perspectives in her analysis.Downloads
