Kövecses, Zoltán. Metaphor in culture: universality and variation

Abstract

Zoltán Kövecses is Professor of Linguistics in the Department of American Studies, Eötvös Loránd University. He is also the author of Language, Mind and Culture: A practical introduction (2006), Metaphor and Emotion (2002) and Metaphor: A Practical Introduction (2000). The author’s major goal in this work is to develop a theory of metaphor variation, based on the cognitive linguistic view of metaphor.
