Prezados leitores, É com satisfação que lançamos a segunda edição da revista Encontros Bibli em 2014 (v. 19, n. 40). O tema central deste número é a Sociedade em Rede, com desafios da Sociedade da Informação e do Conhecimento, abordando desde o fluxo informacional, representação, mediação, as novas apresentações informacionais até as informações tecnológicas e sua vigilância. Este contexto é representado na portada da capa pela análise de redes sociais (teoria de grafos), imagem cedida gentilmente pelo professor Audilio González-Aguilar da Université Paul Valery, Montpellier III, na qual explora características e possibilidades de representar informação com poucos elementos, valorizando a visualização informacional. O conteúdo deste número está dividido em dois blocos, o primeiro contendo os artigos submetidos à revista pelo sistema de peer review, no qual tivemos a grata surpresa de atrair e obter conteúdos muito próximos ao foco central da Sociedade em Rede, tendo aportes da Linguagem natural, do Fluxo da informação, dos Estudos Métricos da Informação e a Avaliação da pesquisa científica, das Co-ocorrências e das Análises de Redes Sociais (ARS). O segundo bloco foi motivado por um dossiê de autores experientes da América Latina nos estudos de Análise de Redes, convidados no I Congreso Internacional - Nuevos Horizontes de Iberoamérica e na III Reunión Latinoamericana de Análisis de Redes Sociales. As contribuições destes especialistas são essenciais para um melhor entendimento das possibilidades de estudos neste âmbito científico, como a Relação entre ARS e a Etnografia, as Redes potenciais de familiares e parentescos, as Relações dos fluxos epistolares, os Colégios invisíveis das produções, a Geração de semânticas e suas ferramentas para geração de conhecimento, e a Aplicação ao público.
