Abstract

In this paper we report a singular teaching experience, held at the night Physics Program for students who seek a teaching degree at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), involving the contents of basic university Physics. In this experiment, the contents were structured on historical grounds, at least for the most part, and taught across Basic Physics I, II, III and IV, according to a simultaneously historical, phenomenological (experimental), mathematical and conceptual approach. These courses are offered alongside with the traditional General and Experimental Physics I, II, III and IV, which are intended for undergraduate students in the exact sciences, including degree in Physics night students.
