EXPERIENCE REPORT ON THE APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING AT UFPR: DISCOVERY OF ORGANIZATIONAL KNOWLEDGE

Abstract
Goal: The research deals with the application of the transition method from Information Engineering to Knowledge Engineering, as a structured strategy for the discovery of organizational knowledge about who researches and what research in the theme of "Smart Cities". Design/Methodology/Approach: Experience report, based on a descriptive study, involving a bibliographic survey, with a qualitative and documental approach and description of the adopted procedures. The experiment involved information management and administration activities: gathering, mapping and organizing research and researchers in the area. In the generation of knowledge, content analysis was carried out, with the elaboration of an e-book, meetings to exchange experiences and a seminar to present research. Results: The experience allowed concluding how to apply the engineering process proposed by the authors in previous articles. And detail procedures for the operational (data), tactical (information) and strategic (knowledge) levels. Results that offered the institution a process that facilitates the transformation of systematized knowledge into organizational and competitive intelligence. Originality/Value: presents a structure that establishes the relationships and theoretical approximations between the areas of knowledge: information science and management, information engineering and knowledge engineering.
