Impressions of contemporary times: market, finances, crisis and the world of work

Abstract

Highlighting some aspects of contemporary social changes is the purpose of this essay, resuming themes of unequivocal importance today, as well as the best known interpretations produced about them. Thus, we have pointed: the centrality of the market, bringing out its capacity of, at the same time, oppressing the individual by building new needs and depreciating the power of state intervention; the increasing financialisation of the economy, whose influence in the process of redirecting capitalist accumulation can be understood only with the contribution of new technologies in a globalized world; the dynamics of labor relations in contemporary times, particularly against the recent crisis plaguing some central economies.
