Mídia e movimentos sociais: a satanização do MST na Folha de S. Paulo
Abstract
The present paper investigates the MST (Brazilian landless movement) news coverage made by Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. The studied articles were printed in Folha´s front page along the year 2000. The author combines theoretical and methodological discourse analysis and content analysis. The analysis elements are shown in a table. The conclusion is that those articles´ content constitute an attack to MST, they disrespect the Journalistic Ethic Code and the Constitutional right to information. The articles published by Folha de S.Paulo show a position against MST and make it clear that, in Brazil, the press absorbs the same discourse as the dominant class.Downloads
