Trabalhando em parceria na coordenação e vice-coordenação do GT Mídia e Entretenimento da Compós, os pesquisadores Jeder Jannoti Jr. e Simone Pereira de Sá discutem nesta entrevista, também conjuntamente, as implicações da relação conflituosa entre mídia e entretenimento, no contexto da espetacularização da cultura. Professor do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Cultura Contemporâneas da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), Janotti Jr. coordena ainda o grupo de pesquisa Mídia & Música Popular Massiva. É autor dos livros Aumenta que Isso Aí é Rock and Roll e Heavy Metal com Dendê (Ed. E-Papers). Simone Pereira de Sá, do Departamento de Mídia e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), coordena na instituição o LabCult - Laboratório de Pesquisas em Culturas Urbanas, Lazer e Tecnologias da Comunicação e desenvolve no momento a pesquisa "Cibercultura, gêneros e cenas na música eletrônica do Brasil".
