This paper presents the results of a case study on the impact of an investigative article on public policy change. The analyzed case was an article published by Época magazine about the ill effects of asbestos use and production. Soon after the publication, 18 bills have been approved in order to prohibit asbestos use. Consequently, the number of workers directly exposed to asbestos has reduced by 80%. Interviews and analysis of documents demonstrated the straight connection between the article and the bill's approval.
