Os Relatos Jornalísticos
Abstract
This manuscript is a broad version of the first doctoral dissertation presented at college level: De relationibus novellis by Tobias Peucer defended in 1690 at Leipzig University, in Germany. It consists of 29 paragraphs that outline a comparison between Journalism and History. It analyzes types of accounts employed by Western culture since ancient times, identifying journalism from a singular perspective. Peucer discusses authorship, news values, truth and credibility. He offers criteria for news selection and restrictions, format and style. This version includes a foreword by the Brazilian translator Paulo da Rocha Dias.Downloads
