Abstract

This paper reviews the Brazilian political and economic situation between 1969 and 1973, a period market by the “economic miracle” and by a brutal political control. The alternative press flourished in this years while the press faced many difficulties including censorship.

Professor-adjunto da UFES. Jornalista formado pela Faculdade de Comunicação Social Casper Líbero (1978), mestre e doutor em Ciências pela ECA-USP (1995 e 2002). Fundador e diretor da Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores em Jornalismo - SBPJor. Publicou em 2005 o livro Democracia de Massas: jornalismo e cidadania, pela Edipucrs. Membro do Conselho Editorial das publicações Brazilian Journalism Research (1808-4079) - Estudos em Jornalismo e Mídia (UFSC) (1806-6496), - Pauta Geral (1677-0595) e outras.
