Abstract

This study intends to develop a classification system for newsworthiness based on three conditions: 1. event root (fact primary selection) including attributes such as conflict, curiosity, drama and proximity; 2. Event treatment including hierarchical selection; 3. Event view including objectivity and public interest. In this first stage, it presents a simplified list of news values in order to set up a news analysis operational system.
