Jornalismo e Realidades Múltiplas: o “arrastão” e as representações mediáticas das identidades
Abstract
The riot registered in June 10th of 2005 at a Lisbon beach was associated to social tensions due to a second generation of immigrants. The media coverage was perceived as sensationalist. It disclosed the media difficult to deal with events involving ethnic identities. This article looks at main Portuguese TV newscasts by employing the theoretical perspective of the social construction of reality.Downloads
