Política e jornalismo na imprensa alternativa
Abstract
This paper considers the relations between political and communication’s fields while studying Brazilian alternative press – the one that struggled against military regime from 1960 to 1980. In doing so, it brings questions such as ´what means alternative press in this period´, ´which are its characteristics and its construction as social action within public space´. The text points out aspects of the fields of politics and journalism and it discusses possibilities to escape from the immediate tendency that takes for granted that communication becomes an instrument for those alternative press working groups. The paper analyses the participation of communication in building public sphere and supporting democracy. It concludes that alternative press contributes for politics, instead of becoming a journalistic field colonized by politics.Downloads
