We assume that journalism constitutes a discursive practice. Thus, its texts are understood as discourses, by which it constructs reality. While the profession continues the search for objectivity, understood in this work as a strategy to effect a sense of “reality”, “truth” and “impartiality”. Also we assume that currently passes for journalistic practice changes arising from media coverage, using self-referential strategies, understood as the discursive competence media devices that have power to speak about itself and other social fields. To this end, our reflection on practice and theory in the journalism are established through the observation of media products that celebrate the 45 years in the newspaper Zero Hora - RS.Downloads
