O Jornalismo Mágico de Gabriel García Márquez
Abstract
This paper examines the literature and the journalism created by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, focusing on the concept of a Latin American literary journalism. It compares Garcia Marquez’ Chronicle of a Foretold Death to Tom Wolfe’s prescription for literary journalism. The analysis confirms the hypothesis that Chronicle is an example of “magical journalism”. Also it discusses the ethical and professional implications faced by those who cross the boundaries between reality and imagination, myth and history, journalism and literature.Downloads
