Momentos Bossa Nova: arte e modernidade sob os olhares da revista O Cruzeiro

Abstract

This article discusses some representations for modernity proposed by O Cruzeiro maganize. Nevertheless, special attention is given to a new graphic design explored in 1959 and 1960, named “Bossa Nova pages”. Characterized by the geometric, economy of elements and wide use of photomontage, the movement sttod for a manifestation for the updating of the graphic form according to the “constructivists” thoughts, which were coming out in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro at the time.

José Estevam Gava, UFP (Universidade Federal de Pelotas)

Bacharel em música (com habilitação em violão - 1983), mestre em artes (com pesquisa na linha de musicologia, Unesp - 1994) e doutor em história (com pesquisa na linha de identidades culturais, Unesp - 2003), as duas pesquisas publicadas pelas editoras Unesp e Annablume/Fapesp. Atualmente é professor adjunto II no Departamento de Música e Artes Cênicas do IAD (Instituto de Artes e Design) da Universidade Federal de Pelotas/RS. Leciona também no Conservatório de Música da mesma universidade. Currículo Lattes - CNPq.
