Vladimir Herzog e a Rádio Jornal do Brasil – AM

Abstract

An analysis of the information transmitted by AM radio Jornal do Brasil about the death of journalist Vladimir Herzog reveals that, in 1975, the station developed two parallel polyphonic discourses to deal with censorship during the military rule. On one hand, the station repeated the military’s position telling the story from the government’s point of view. On the other hand, the station questioned the official version of Herzog’s suicide. This study shows thirty years later how radio Jornal do Brasil covered the episode.

Ana Baumworcel, UFF

possui graduação em Comunicação - Jornalismo pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1980) e mestrado em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (1999). É Doutoranda a partir de 2008 em Educação pela UFF.Atualmente é professora adjunto 3 do Departamento de Comunicação da Universidade Federal Fluminense. Tem experiência na área de Comunicação, com ênfase em Mídia Sonora, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: radiojornalismo, história do rádio, rádio-educativo, educação e atividade de extensão.
