Abstract

The attention to Mental Health has a demand to work from a perspective that values the integrity of the individual. We believe that Physical Education can have a substantial role in this process. Therefore, this article is characterized as a literature review in order to promote reflection on the role desinstitucionalizador by Physical Education in Mental Health, implying that several possibilities are emerging, giving a political and social contribution, seen that besides the completeness of the individual,  spaces for your practice go beyond the institutional space. However, this process depends on activities aimed at overcoming purely hospital services and traditional.
