In this article, we discuss Anisio Teixeira’s conception of hilosophy of education, extracted from works of this author produced between the fifties and the sixties. Our aim is to analyze both the receptivity of his conception during that period in Brazilian historical context and his importance for the present pedagogical and philosophical educational debate that has been developed in Brazil.
