Abstract

ln this article we report a didatic experience which involved
two areas of knowledge, History and Portuguese. Around some
navigators account about their traveis during the 16th and 18th century. The strangeness in the contact with another cultures was investigated and analysed. This experience was an opportunity to study the local History, in the context ofthe Western world expansion as well as to have an idea of how the navigators "Iook into the other".
