Feminist Theories in the Americas and the Transnational Politics of Translation

In light of post-colonial contemporary formations and the reconfiguration of all kinds of knowledge and cartographies, the question of cultural translations has become a crucial site for feminist debates. Through what routes in the Americas do feminist theories, along with their foundational concepts, travel? How are they translated indifferent historical and geopolitical contexts? What kinds of readings do feminist theories elicit in their multiple dislocations? What mechanisms and technologies of control oversee the transit of theories across geographic, institutional and disciplinary borders? These are some interrogations posed by the author and which are addressed in the articles published in this section of the Journal.Downloads
