This paper reports the investigation about the contributions of the use of Learning Objects technological resource for the study of semiotic representations. The research was piloted with students who participated in the Living Learning Support Mathematics program at a public school. Semiotic representations were identified by treatment and conversion for tasks performed by students. The results showed that the Learning Object "Balança Interativa" made possible the conversion and treatment manifested in the written registers of these students. Despite some students experiencing difficulty in algebra and in arithmetic operations, the research has shown the use of technological resources Learning Objects contributed to student learning in mathematics classes.
