Risk’s Definition Process of OSX-Estaleiro/SC Environmental Licensing: an involved community’s perspective

Abstract

 It intended to comprehend the risk’sdefinition process by involved community inthe context of OSX-Estaleiro/SC environmentallicensing, at Biguaçu, between 2009 and 2010.The qualitative research approach was adopted.The bibliographical and documental researchtechnique was used conjunctionally with semi-structured interview technique. It was adoptedUlrich Beck’s risk society theory as the maintheoretical reference. About results, it was real-ized the existence of life’s material conditionsand communities’ effects perceptions relation.It concluded about the necessity of social basicrights for an independent and legitimate risk’ssocial construction process.
