Abstract

The publication of L’analyse du discours comme méthode de traduction (Jean Delisle, 1980) marked the introduction of the concept of didactic objectives as well as the elaboration of detailed programs in the translation training. Delisle’s work is a compulsory reference in every research in the field of translation training. This paper deals with one of Delisle’s methodological proposal in economic translation teaching. Inspired by his own experience as a professor and translator, Delisle presents a method divided in five objectives which facilitate theoretical und practical knowledge learning and assimilation required to translate economic texts. One of the most outstanding contributions in translation training is the adoption of learning objectives and the search for an active didactic methodology (Hurtado: 1999). In this way, Jean Delisle opened the way to build the foundations of translations didactics

She is a professor and researcher of the Virgo University, Spain, where she has carried out postgraduate studies. Barbosa acts in the field of Technical-scientific translation, literary translation, and foreign languages teaching. Vigo, Galiza, Espanha.
