This paper reports on the use of translation memory systems in the translation classroom. Legal texts were used as input for a translation activity in an undergraduate English-Portuguese translation course. The translation activity was performed in Wordfast Classic 6.13. The collected data reveal that translation memory, when not reflectively challenged by translator trainees, may negatively affect their decision-making.
