The present review evaluates orality marks translations in the british police novel The Cuckoo's Calling (2013), by Robert Galbraith, translated in Brazil by Ryta Vinagre, under the title O Chamado do Cuco (2013). To this end, a review is done about important theoretical aspects related to the language norm and oral variation as well as the literary representation of these forms of expression. Then, it will be analysed excerpts from the original and these excerpts will be compared to their respectives translations, and, specially, it will be evaluated the translations of orality marks.
