The objective of this article is to give some considerations about an investigation based on works developed by Grupo de Estudo e Pesquisa em Educação Matemática e Avaliação (Mathemtics Education and Assessment Research and Study Group) - GEPEMA - on the analysis of math written production. With this investigation, supported by Content Analysis guidelines, it is possible to characterize math written production analysis as an assessment strategy, gather information about it, about what it provides, and about the actions a math teacher can carry out to realize it.
