Abstract

Objective: to analyze the norms for authors regarding the use of AI in journals in the e-learning category in the Scimago ranking.

Methods: it was a sequential study (CUAN-CUAL). In the quantitative phase, the authors analyzed the presence, type, and location of the information. In the qualitative one there was a textual approach of the genre (instructions to authors) and a contextual approach (other sections of the journal's website).

Results: 68 journals were analyzed, which belonged to different quartiles: Q1 (n= 17), Q2 (n= 18), Q3 (n= 17), Q4 (n= 16). A third of the sample (33%) did not include indications on authors' use of AI. The authors identified three categories in the content analysis: use of generative AI and large-scale language models (LLM), use of non-generative AI, and authors' responsibility.

Conclusions: there is still no uniform position on what to regulate and how to declare the permitted use of AI; and where in the manuscript to do so.

Oscar Alberto González, Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de América Latina

Professor of Commercial Education and Master in Education with mention in research, graduated from the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL-IPB) Venezuela. Expert in virtual education and educational technology at FATLA Ecuador. Currently, he works as a service provider in the development of educational resources in the office of information and communication technologies of the Centro de Altos Estudios Nacionales (CAEN - EPG).

Jorge Enrique Tambini, Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de América Latina

As a lawyer graduated from the Universidad San Martín de Porres, my professional career has been based on an academic training of excellence, with a focus on corporate law. This specialization has allowed me to enter the complex world of corporations, where the dynamism and constant evolution of legal regulations require a highly trained and updated professional. Since the beginning of my career, I have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to legal research and knowledge development in a variety of legal disciplines. This passion for learning and continuous improvement has led me to delve into key areas such as labor law and labor litigation, where I have handled cases ranging from individual disputes to complex litigation involving large labor collectives and corporate labor policies. Over the course of more than ten years, my work as legal counsel in the private sector has been characterized by my ability to draft legal briefs with precision, craft compelling claims and formulate strategic responses in defense of my clients' interests. My practical approach and ability to anticipate and solve complex legal problems have been the key to establishing trusting, long-term relationships with the companies I have had the honor to serve.
