Abstract

Objective: Knowledge Management plays a strategic role in the governance of innovation ecosystems by fostering the creation, sharing, and application of knowledge among the actors involved. However, this topic remains underexplored in the literature. In this context, this article aims to diagnose Knowledge Management in the governance structures of Estação 43.

Methods: The research, with a quantitative approach, descriptive character, and field nature, used a structured questionnaire based on the model by Bukowitz and Williams (2002), adapted and validated by specialists. The instrument was applied via Google Forms, with a link sent through WhatsApp to the representatives of the 12 vertical governance structures of Estação 43. Data collection took place between May and August 2024, and the data were analyzed in a descriptive and consolidated manner.

Results: The questionnaire was answered by representatives of 10 verticals. The results indicate that Knowledge Management is institutionalized within the governance structures, with an overall average of 70.36%, higher than the theoretical reference of 55%. The best-performing sections were “build/maintain” (80.83%), “use” (80.56%), “learn” (79.43%), and “contribute” (76.39%), demonstrating maturity in the application and sharing of knowledge. The sections “obtain” (52.5%), “evaluate” (55.0%), and “discard” (67.78%) showed weaknesses, indicating a need for improvement in knowledge acquisition, measurement, and updating.

Conclusions: Estação 43 demonstrates consolidated practices in the use, learning, and preservation of knowledge. In this regard, the governance structures show the ability to transform knowledge into action, promoting collaboration and the continuity of activities. However, weaknesses persist in the acquisition, evaluation, and updating of information, highlighting the need for greater systematization. Overall, the study reinforces the strategic role of Knowledge Management in strengthening governance structures and ensuring the sustainability of innovation ecosystems.

Danieli Pinto, Centro Universitário Cesumar

Doctor of Information Science from the State University of Londrina (UEL). Master's degree in Knowledge Management in Organizations from the University Center of Maringá - UniCesumar. She holds a Bachelor's and Licentiate degree in Biological Sciences (2005), a degree in Management Processes (2011), and a degree in the Science of Happiness (2024). Currently, she is a professor at UMFG Faculty and in the Postgraduate Program in Knowledge Management in Organizations - UniCesumar. Areas of interest: Knowledge Management; Information Management; Innovation Ecosystems; Innovation Environments; Innovation Management.

Letícia Gorri Molina, Universidade Estadual de Londrina

She holds a degree in Psychology from the State University of Londrina (1993), a degree in Library Science from the State University of Londrina (2003), and a master’s degree from UNESP/Marília, with the thesis Corporate Portals: information and communication technologies applied to information and knowledge management in information technology companies. She earned her PhD from the Graduate Program in Information Science at UNESP/Marília, with the dissertation Organizational Memory and the Development of Knowledge Bases. She is a faculty member in the undergraduate programs in Archival Science and Library Science, as well as in the Graduate Program in Information Science in the Department of Information Science at UEL. She has experience in the field of Information Science, with an emphasis on Information Dissemination and Sharing Processes, working mainly on the following topics: institutional memory, organizational memory, information management, knowledge management, document management, and innovation ecosystems. She has been the leader of the research group “Knowledge, Information, and Memory Management” since 2014.

Nelson Nunes Tenório Junior, Centro Universitário Cesumar

Holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, with postdoctoral studies at the IT University of Copenhagen (2016) and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2017 and 2018), where he was a visiting researcher. He was also a visiting researcher at the Université de technologie de Troyes (2018) with a scholarship from the French government. He holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from UniCesumar, and a Technologist degree in Data Processing from FAIMAR. He coordinated the postgraduate courses in Production Engineering, MBA in Strategic and Economic Business Management, and MBA in Quality and Productivity at UniCesumar, where he implemented and coordinated the MBA in Project Management. He also coordinated the undergraduate courses in Systems Analysis and Development (ADS) and Computer Networks, and implemented and coordinated the undergraduate course in Production Engineering at UniCesumar. He was a professor in the on-campus undergraduate programs in Systems Analysis and Development (SAD), Computer Networks, Software Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering, as well as in the distance learning SAD program at UniCesumar, where he was also a member of the Ethics and Research Committee. He was a member of the management committee of the Maringá Technological Incubator. He developed items for the 2011 ENADE exam for the SAD program. Currently, he is: a researcher and productivity fellow at the Cesumar Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (ICETI); Coordinator and professor of the Master's Program in Knowledge Management at UniCesumar; and Coordinator of the Learning Analytics Laboratory at UniCesumar (LeAL).
