Objective: The interpretation of historical aspects and social structures in Latin America was the basis for the development of the epistemological proposal of the Peruvian sociologist Aníbal Quijano, regarding the decolonization of Latin American societies. From his work, basic concepts took shape, to explain the “partial and distorted” reality of observation of this place. Thus, this article questions how the decolonial conceptual relations developed in the work of Aníbal Quijano are constituted. The objective is to identify the concepts developed by Quijano in the light of Domain Analysis, to understand how they are constituted in a conceptual network, which can be understood as an interface of Latin American knowledge, being part of and being represented in Systems of Knowledge Organization.
Method: The research is bibliographical, and exploratory and has as approach and method the Domain Analysis.
Result: The results reveal the coherence of the concepts used, which can guide the analysis and theoretical-methodological application, in decolonial studies that particularize and enunciate the absence of reflections on the different particular aspects such as indigenous people, women, black people, inserted, from general way, in Latin American culture and knowledge. The conceptual network proved to be greater when the understanding of these concepts was explored based on their theoretical and epistemic connections.
Conclusions: The processes of Organization and Representation of Knowledge allow the control of the language used in the information spaces, and the knowledge of the decolonial perspective developed by Quijano, demonstrates a coherence and theoretical stability that confronts the perpetuation of colonial and epistemic processes of the Latino communities -americanas, thus being important for the understanding and characterization of documents that punctuate these processes in the context of domains of knowledge related to the decolonial perspective.
