Abstract

When we aim a telescope towards a celestial body, we are almost all times doing it on a direction slightly upwards of the true direction, because to the refraction of the light that crosses the Earth atmosphere. The atmospheric refraction has several detrimental implications to astronomical observations, that we will consider and explain along this article.
