Abstract

This article analyzes the process of media convergence and its impacts on photojournalists' work methods. Based on reports from professionals in the podcast Boletim do Martin (2021) and the reports The State of News Photography (2015 and 2018), using Structural Podcast Analysis (Silva, 2022) and Content Analysis (Bardin, 2006) as methodologies, we establish a comparative parallel of the situation of Brazilian and foreign photojournalists and their relationships with work. As a result, we found that the convergent media environment imposes challenging conditions on photojournalism professionals. However, these professionals demonstrate a very close relationship with their profession and, despite facing labor difficulties, are satisfied with their work.
