Abstract

Pedagogical innovation in initial teacher training has emerged as a response to the social, technological, and cultural transformations that characterize the 21st century. This article analyzes the reasons that justify innovation, the motivations for implementing inclusive mathematics education practices, the effects of innovation and creative insubordination on the experience and constitution of students' teaching identity, and the expectations for promoting more equitable and inclusive teacher training courses. Based on a literature review on pedagogical innovations, in connection with creative insubordination in the context of initial teacher training, we discuss the fundamental dimensions evidenced in theoretical studies from the perspectives of inclusion, equity, and the professional development of future mathematics teachers. To gather and synthesize research that highlights reflections on innovations and their motivations, their impacts and transformative proposals, under intervention based on actions of creative insubordination, we conducted a qualitative and exploratory investigation. Based on recent literature, we argue that innovating is an ethical and pedagogical commitment aimed at promoting more meaningful learning, reducing barriers, valuing diversity, and strengthening student participation, aspects found in educational scenarios represented by acts of creative insubordination. We conclude that pedagogical innovations combined with creative insubordination constitute essential instruments for building humanized, inclusive, and socially relevant academic environments.
