Educação de jovens e adultos agricultores, um problema de política pública e cidadania

This article deals with educational policies brought fourth in the realm of the relationship between the state and the organized civil society. The Projeto Terra Solidária is the research empirical data, a program developed by the Workers Central Union – Central Única dos Trabalhadores (CUT) – concerning familial agricultural in the South of Brazil (PR, SC, RS). Sponsored by the Brazilian state, CUT aims to intermediate a contradictory pedagogical process of political education: on one side, it searches to intensify class conscience among the group in order to create and move social agency towards a broader class struggle; on the other, it promotes the workers technical education aiming the growth of labor productivity. The hypothesis that is being confirmed is that, albeit transnational capitalism subtle agency, such experience does contribute to a more effective growth of democracy either in state or society level.
