Da avaliação das compreensões às estratégias de ensino: o caso de uma pintura histórica brasileira

The investigation deals with a group of individuals faculties for understanding a Brazilian historical painting and the consequences for educators and students of the didactics of evaluation in this process of understanding. The starting point is the Education of Art Understanding that considers the work of art as a cultural phenomenon. The methodological approach is qualitative and interpretative and from this standpoint people’s way of understanding was classified in different levels and realms. When an old myth of Brazilian hegemonic visual culture is deconstructed (‘The First Mass in Brazil’), a model has been born, a model that might be a starting point for the Education of Art Understanding inside or outside schools.
