The present article aims at to present the didactic book analysis of Mathematics, referring to the similar function, under the light of the theory of the Registers of Representation of Duval (2003). For the author the mathematical objects are abstract, needing representations for its apprehensions; what it implies to consider the coordination of the least the same two registers for object. Thus, we search as two didactic books consider referring activities to the concept of similar function and, that reflected they have in practical the pedagogical one of the professor. For in such a way, the used method was the qualitative research in the form of case study. The research allowed to conclude that, while the book (LD-1) emphasizes, in its majority, “closed” problems that, generally, they do not demand the mathematical reasoning; the book (LD-2) prioritizes situation-problem that focus the contextualization, what potential the coordination of some registers. Moreover, the book (LD-1) emphasizes conversions in the algebraic direction graph in “closed” problems and (LD-2) prioritizes conversions in the direction natural language algebraic in situation-problem. In addition, conversions in the graphical direction algebraic they are not prioritized by the books, as well as the graphical treatment that demand global procedures. These facts can cause damages the teach-learning of the concept of similar function, therefore the didactic books are used by the majority of the professors as main script in the organization and conduction of its lessons.
