In this paper, we present a part of a research conducted with mathematics teachers in continued education programs in five higher education institutions of Rio Grande do Sul, with the aim of analyzing the errors made by these teachers on issues involving algebra, geometry, analysis and probability. One of the test questions addresses concepts of geometry and the solutions given by 50 teachers were analyzed, having been created categories of errors that were described and exemplified. The discussion on the resolutions was based on authors who approach the concept of visualization and in official documents such as National Curriculum Guidelines. As a suggestion to retake with the teachers the contents in which were detected errors or difficulties, we point out the use of Dynamic Geometry software, which can provide a better view and understanding of geometric properties involving inscribed and circumscribed polygons.
